IBM office on CDTV

A few weeks ago there were some people from one of the local TV stations here at our office putting together a story for a show called Chengdu Economy Weekly on CDTV1. The story was about the IBM office here in Chengdu, and here is what the aired...

There are a few people speaking English in it, including one decadent western capitalist American. Enjoy!

  • Why the Chinese sub-titles when she is speaking Chinese?

You looked like the seasoned veteran in the office, Steve.

  • Generally most TV and radio broadcasts are done in Mandarin, but there are a lot of different spoken dialects in Chinese and not everyone here can speak Mandarin. Even though there are many different spoken dialects of Chinese they all have the same written language, so whenever you see a TV show here it will have sub-titles.
