A tidbit

I haven't posted much in awhile. Been very busy, did some traveling, and recovering from a cold. I will post about all that later, but for now I'll just link an interesting article about China for you all...

A Long Wait at the Gate to Greatness from the Washington Post

China, the drumbeat goes, is poised to become the 800-pound gorilla of the international system, ready to dominate the 21st century the way the United States dominated the 20th.

Except that it's not.

  • Really good article Steve. I thought the WP was one of those papers you didn't like, Lol.

So more importantly, I found a place nearby that has better Fajitas than Rio Grande colder beer, and you can smoke. Hahaha.

    When you coming home?

  • Come on, Greg. Steve knows that it's important to keep an eye on the enemy. He probably reads the WP every day.

  • I usually read the WaPo when they have good articles. Looks like the writer lives in LA and is probably not one of their regular idiots.

Fajitas and cold beer would be nice about now. :)

Not sure yet when I am coming back to the US. I won't hear about my visa until late August.

  • You need a Visa to visit the US?

  • No. I need a visa to continue to work in China. With the new rules, if my renewal is rejected then I have to go back to the US and apply again from there.

  • Well, that would suck.

  • No it would be a blast--he would have a political meltdown, hahaha.

BTW it will be officially 25 years that we have all known each other. Amy has agreed todrive when you get back muwahahahaha.

  • I think it's longer than that. We met the last week of August, 1981.

  • Dam killed the wrong brain cell. Knew that memory one would be important some day.

Well don't tell Amy. We'll lose our driver.
